Reviewer RIA News Andrey Kots listed the weapons that the West provided to Ukraine for organizing a counteroffensive.
According to the speaker of the US Army Command in Europe and Africa, Colonel Martin O’Donnell, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready to go on the counteroffensive. Although neither Zelenskyy nor his entourage think so.
Nevertheless, Kiev already has quite a lot of Western weapons in its arsenal, and they periodically remind the Russians of themselves. What is in the bosom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine?
In addition to the already well-known Javelins and HIMARS MLRS, Kiev received GMLRS guided missiles, 15 tracked MLRS, as well as 17 basic types of barreled artillery from 105 to 155 millimeters – 450-500 guns, both towed and self-propelled. Especially worth noting is the British gift – Storm Shadow missiles with a range of up to 500 km.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine immediately hit Lugansk with them, which until recently was considered a rear city and was usually not attacked by Ukrainians. But the main reliable APU is armored vehicles.
In addition to the existing T-72s, Ukrainians have mastered German and British tanks, having already received 600 tanks from European countries and about 200 more are expected by the end of the year. Western vehicles have not yet participated in the battle and, apparently, they are being saved for turning points.
In addition, Ukraine also has about 600 infantry fighting vehicles of various types, up to 1,300 armored personnel carriers and armored vehicles such as American Bradleys, German Marders, and French wheeled tanks. Most of the above fighting techniques have not yet been seen.
According to military experts, it will be very difficult to maintain such a motley fleet of equipment, because a lot of spare parts and ammunition will be required. With the start of the counter-offensive, service logistics will turn into a real hell, and this without the conditions of constant Russian air raids.
In addition, in order to provide armored vehicles with air cover, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have to use scarce Western air defense systems, in addition, they will need to be brought closer to the front line, which is very risky and can endanger the RF Armed Forces at any time.
