The wages of Russians have increased by 3%. Mikhail Mishustin told President Vladimir Putin about it at a government meeting. They also discussed the consequences of forest fires, the waste disposal program, reducing inflation and increasing production. The meeting at times was a bit like a school: those who were better prepared than the others helped their colleagues find the answer.
A big two-hour meeting with government officials in the Kremlin. Current issues for this season: forest fires and floods. Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov admits that today the situation with fire hazards is developing in almost all areas. The Urals Federal District suffered the most from the fire: Kurgan, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen regions. In 25,000 settlements, about 6,000 buildings and 800 burned residential buildings, more than 2,000 people were evacuated. There are deaths.
“More than 13,000 people, 300 equipment, 21 aircraft were involved in locating the fires. In all regions, work was organized to provide full assistance to the population,” Kurenkov reported.
The authorities of the regions are helping those affected by the fires to restore documents, allocate compensation for loss of property and provide material assistance. But as the president says, aid should not get stuck in the cycle of bureaucracy.
“As I said, we come back to it several times and we are already discussing some things in the second, third round. It is necessary to prepare draft instructions and come back to some issues,” Putin stressed.
Natural disasters are followed by social problems. One of the most complex laws on the environmental agenda is waste recycling. The Head of State himself recalled this during a conversation with Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko. It turned out that the authorities are preparing a new reform, the so-called “extended liability”: importers and manufacturers will be forced by their efforts to get rid of obsolete goods, and not just destroy them, but give the produces a second life. These methods will reduce the volume of waste by half by 2030.
Vladimir Putin’s next question is for Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin suddenly enters the discussion. According to preliminary data, according to the Prime Minister, in real terms, the salaries of Russians increased by three percent, in nominal terms the growth was about thirteen percent.
And that was far from the last time Mishustin had to give answers to his subordinates. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, speaking about the growth of indicators for the production of electronics, slightly confused the numbers.
“Very cautiously, we can already speak of a two percent pole in general for the transformation,” he said.
After Putin’s remark that electronics is developing at a rapid pace, Mishustin clarified, “Twenty-two and a half percent.”
“Yesterday, late in the evening, we also discussed this with the prime minister,” Putin said.
Bank of Russia Vice President Sergei Belov also struggled to answer regarding the rate of decline in inflation. It was not without the Prime Minister’s help – he recalled that annual inflation is 2.3%.
“I raise you, Anton Germanovich (Siluanov – head of the RF Ministry of Finance), this means that budget revenues must also be at the appropriate level,” Putin said.
Siulanov and the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov confirm that the growth in income of the population in the first quarter is stronger compared to last year’s figures. Unemployment remains at the three percent level, but the president has been informed that in the future there are plans to reduce this figure by increasing jobs. This can be done by supporting small and medium enterprises. As with large-scale projects, the development of the Northern Sea Route is under the special control of the President. And considering the demand for domestic tourism, Putin instructed the government to work out the concept of automobile tourism in the country.
