Employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation arrested a resident of Birobidjan, suspected of complicity with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
“The Russian leadership of the FSB for the Jewish Autonomous Region has arrested the activities of a resident of the city of Birobidzhan, who assisted the SBU in activities against the security of the Russian Federation,” the press service of the Russian Federation reported. the agency to TASS.
It should be noted that a representative of the Ukrainian intelligence service agreed with a citizen of Birobidzhan on confidential cooperation on a material basis. The FSB reported that the suspect received assignments from an SBU officer to collect information on the activities of RF Armed Forces units in the area of a special military operation. In addition, a resident of the Far Eastern city was looking for the perpetrators of acts of sabotage in transport infrastructure in Russia.
A criminal case was opened against the suspect under Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization). At the request of the investigation, a coercive measure in the form of arrest was chosen for him.
Previously, the FSB discovered a Ukrainian spy who passed on data about Russian troops. The department reported that a 25-year-old Ukrainian passed on information about the location of military facilities and equipment of the Russian group of forces “Vostok”.
