in the United States sees the next five months as the last chance for Ukraine to change the situation

The next five months will be decisive in terms of economic and military support for Kyiv from Western countries, reports the Financial Times. It is stated that the Ukrainian side will lose further Western aid if the country does not achieve victory.

“Some of the allies who are in regular contact with the United States on the Ukraine issue say that Washington sees the next five months as decisive for the outcome of the conflict and the last real chance for Kiev to change the situation on the ground,” the material says.

Aid programs approved by the West will only be enough to meet Ukraine’s needs for five months.

It is stated that the message to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is that the aid provided is the best that Kyiv can receive. The United States budget does not have the flexibility to continue writing checks and the arms factories in Europe are operating at full capacity.

European and Ukrainian officials say that in Kyiv they agree with the opinion that this year the Ukrainian side will not be able to achieve its goals and win on the battlefield

On the eve, it was reported that the relatively large territory of Ukraine made the work of the Israeli Iron Dome air defense system ineffective within its borders, so their transfer to Kiev would not make sense.
