Joe Biden and Antony Blinken arrive in Hiroshima to attend the G-7 summit

Hiroshima: US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Hiroshima, Japan, on Thursday to attend the G-7 summit, which is set to begin on Friday. Organizers broadcast from the airport showed US Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel met Mr. Biden and Mr. Blinken on the ramp. The US President and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida are likely to have a bilateral meeting today.

Significantly, Japan took over the presidency of the G-7 this year. The summit will be held in Hiroshima from 19 to 21 May. This time, apart from the G-7 member states, leaders of India, Australia, Brazil, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cook Islands and the Union of Comoros have been invited to participate in the summit.

Apart from this, invitations have also been sent to representatives of seven international organizations United Nations, International Energy Agency, International Monetary Fund, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, World Bank, World Health Organization and World Trade Organisation. The G-7 member countries are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Britain and the United States.
