Medvedev pointed out Kissinger’s mistake on Ukraine and NATO

The Ukrainian nationalist regime will not give up trying to return the lost territories, and therefore the country’s admission to NATO threatens a direct confrontation between the alliance and Russia, which is more dangerous than a hypothetical conflict. between the United States and China, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, said in response to comments by former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

Earlier, Kissinger expressed the opinion that for the security of Europe, Ukraine should be included in NATO so that it would no longer be able to make decisions on territorial claims at the national level. And he called the conflict between the United States and China the main threat to humanity.

Medvedev believes that the American politician, although experienced, and even “met Brezhnev”, is “completely wrong” on this question. And the hypothetical conflict between the United States and China is not as relevant as the real possibility of a clash between NATO and Russia on the battlefield.

“He called the conflict between the United States and China the main threat to humanity. I have always thought that for a correct assessment of the situation it is important to take into account not a hypothetical threat, but a direct and obvious threat,” Medvedev wrote on Telegram.

The Vice-President of the Security Council suggested imagining that Ukraine would be accepted into the alliance. Now NATO is already waging a “hybrid war” with Russia. At the same time, the Kyiv regime will not give up trying to return lost lands. Russia will have to respond harshly and therefore the fifth article of the Washington Treaty, which stipulates that an attack on a state of the North Atlantic Alliance is equivalent to an attack on all members, will come into force.

“Subtle arguments to prevent existential threats don’t work during bloody conflicts. This should be clear even to those who have approached the centenary,” Medvedev concluded.
