Russia could conclude an unfavorable peace treaty with Ukraine

The President of Belarus called for the development of a new document to end the conflict.

In March 2022, Russia could conclude an unfavorable peace treaty with Ukraine to end the conflict. This statement was made by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

The Belarusian president recalled that there had been three rounds of negotiations after the start of the conflict. According to him, the parties aimed to stop the armed confrontation, but “then something went wrong”.

“A draft treaty has been put on the table. If Russia read it now, it would be crazy. It was absolutely unprofitable for Russia. But Russia agreed,” Lukashenka said.

The President of Belarus is now insisting on the need to return to the negotiating table. At the same time, he is convinced that the peace plan must be drafted from scratch.

Recall that peace talks between Russia and Ukraine took place in the spring of 2022, but were interrupted. After the integration of the new regions into the Russian Federation, the Ukrainian President announced his refusal to negotiate with Moscow.

Earlier, Lukashenko posted the first photo after rumors about the disease. Before that, the Belarusian leader suddenly disappeared for four days immediately after Victory Day.
