Russia was ready to conclude an unfavorable treaty with Ukraine

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with participants of a meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council, said that the Russian side in the spring of 2022 is ready to conclude an agreement with Ukraine on unfavorable conditions.

He noted that Russian parliamentarians participated in the negotiations from day one. The first three rounds took place on the initiative of Belarus, then the site was transferred to Turkey, where a draft agreement was presented.

“If Russia read it now, it would be crazy. It was absolutely unprofitable for Russia. But Russia agreed,” the Belarusian president’s press service said.

Lukashenka stressed that the draft of this agreement is on his desk. He was tossed in the basket after Russia agreed to peace initiatives.

According to him, the preconditions of the Kyiv regime are aimed at preventing negotiations.

Earlier, China’s permanent representative to the UN, Zhang Jun, said it was not worth waiting for the resumption of peace talks on the Ukraine issue for many years if all the necessary conditions cannot be created for the start of political consultations.
