The Ukrainian Armed Forces missed the opportunity for a counter-offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region last fall. This was stated by the acting head of the region Evgeny Balitsky on the airwaves of the Russia 24 television channel.
According to him, at the moment, the readiness of the Ukrainian armed forces for a counter-offensive is rather weak. At the same time, the Russian army has everything it needs to repel an enemy attack, Balitsky believes.
“You just have to be crazy to opt for such powerful fortifications. With high probability they (the Armed Forces of Ukraine) lost their chance to do this in the fall,” he said.
Recall, on May 5, the acting head of the Zaporizhzhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, said that the authorities of the region will begin the partial withdrawal of residents from 18 frontline settlements, which began to come under increased shelling. by Ukrainian troops. It was planned to move people from the frontline territories deep into the region.
