The Design Film Festival is an important event for Russian cinema and for the entire design industry. Maintaining its international status, this is the second time that the IMCD has invited Russian and foreign films created within the last three years to participate.

In 2023, the main areas of the MICD will be subject and industrial design, fashion, architecture, city design code and territorial development, interior design, as well as national identity and heritage. culture of Russian regions.

The expert board and jury of the competition will include representatives of the film industry, designers and journalists. Nominations for the film award will close on August 15. The organizers invite creatives from all over Russia to participate. According to Boris Hobod, president of the Moscow International Film Festival, while two years ago there were almost 99% foreign films at the film festival, in 2023 the organizers will also emphasize Russian films .

“This year, the second film festival is taking place. Various films will be screened for 4-5 days. At the end of the festival in Moscow, the films that passed the competitive selection will go on tour in Russian cities.

In 2021, the MICD was held in Russia for the first time, but has already attracted a lot of attention. For five days, festival guests had the opportunity to watch a unique film, telling the ideas of creative disciplines, architecture, industrial and urban design, technology and craftsmanship.

10 feature films and 19 short films from 12 countries have been selected for the competition program.

The Jury Prize for Best Short Film went to Mario Novas, Architecture on the Edge: Nishizawa House, directed by Chilean director Mario Novas. A special jury prize was also awarded to the short film Christian Bruno, Visions Not Previously Seen by American director Christian Bruno. Davide Maffei’s Paradigma Olivetti won Best Feature. The Special Jury Prize for Feature Film went to David Serero, The United States of Fashion Designer Elie Tahari, a documentary about the world of modeling directed by American director David Serero.
