US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan avoided answering questions about whether the Ukrainian offensive had begun. According to him, the Ukrainians themselves should characterize their actions.
“If a counter-offensive has started, whoever leads it sees (…) I will let the Ukrainians characterize what they are doing,” he told a press conference.
At the same time, Sullivan mentioned “heavy combat activity”.
Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov told WP that the expectation of a Ukrainian counter-offensive is overrated around the world. The publication believes that the Kiev authorities are afraid of the end of financial support from the Western collective and the end of arms deliveries after the failure.
