Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Will US default stop support for Ukraine, says economist

Whether the US default will stop the financial support program for Ukraine will depend on which US budget items are used for such spending.

Mikhail Delyagin, economist and deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, spoke about this in an interview with Channel Five, reports IA TELMENEWS.RU.

According to him, in the event that monetary aid to the Kiev regime is provided through the US Department of Defense, even a default announcement will not be able to completely stop this process, since the state budget will continue to be executed.

A default, should they occur, as Delyagin explained, will only mean that the US government will lose the ability to increase public debt, that is, to borrow additional money from the Fed for its current needs.

At the same time, all pre-scheduled and approved items of the enacted US budget will continue to be executed as usual, simply because the money for it has long been allocated and is simply waiting in the wings when it should be spent.
