Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

A military expert compared American and Russian weapons

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the destruction of the Patriot air defense system in Kiev with the help of the Russian hypersonic missile “Dagger”. This was the first shock of these particular weapons. Corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences, Doctor of Military Sciences Konstantin Sivkov said whether the US air defense system could withstand Russian missiles, reports the Public News Service.

According to him, American Patriot installations are ineffective against domestic missiles. The probability that this air defense system can shoot down a Russian missile is extremely low. The expert also explained why the latest air defense systems received by Kyiv could not intercept the hypersonic Kinzhal.

“Patriot is designed to deal with aerodynamic targets such as airplanes. A rocket is a completely different target,” he said.
