London: Britain has banned the import of diamond, copper, aluminum and nickel from Russia. This was announced by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Thursday. According to the report, the sanctions also include a $4 billion freeze on the diamond export market. The report said that Britain has also banned 86 individuals and organizations involved in Russia’s military industrial sector. Significantly, Mr. Sunak is currently in Hiroshima, Japan to attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit.
On the other hand, European Council President Charles Michel said on Friday that the European Union is planning to restrict trade in Russian diamonds. He said, ‘We will ban the trade of Russian diamonds.’ According to the report of Agency France Press, Michel has arrived to participate in the G-Summit held in Hiroshima, Japan.
The G7 summit is being held in Hiroshima, Japan from May 19 to 21 and will focus on the Ukraine conflict, economic security, green investment and development of the Indo-Pacific region. Leaders of India, Australia, Brazil, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Comoros and Cook Islands have been invited to attend the G7 summit. Also invited are the heads of seven international organizations including the United Nations, the World Bank and the World Health Organisation. ,
