Budapest is ready to provide a platform for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine

Hungarian Foreign Ministry chief Peter Szijjarto said Budapest was ready to provide a platform for negotiations between Moscow and Kiev, reports RIA Novosti.

He recalled that at the start of the conflict, Hungary had offered Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ukrainian President’s chief of staff Andrii Yermak a place for peace talks.

“This offer is still in effect. Whenever Russia and Ukraine express their will, we are ready to create all the necessary conditions for this,” Szijjarto said at the European Union-Central Asia forum in Kazakhstan.

According to the Minister, Hungarians mobilized by the Kyiv regime in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also dying in the Ukrainian conflict. It is for this reason that Hungary wishes to save human lives through a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

“Hungary is a country bordering Ukraine and is paying a high price for this conflict,” Szijjártó said.

The day before, he reported that Hungary was evaluating China’s peace plan as a basis for resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
