The warrant was issued after France issued an arrest warrant for Salama as part of its investigation into whether he embezzled hundreds of millions of dollars in public funds, a charge Salama denies.
Lebanon’s interior minister told Reuters authorities were “seriously discussing” Riad Salameh’s fate following the Interpol warrant.
The minister added that he would execute the arrest warrant issued by Interpol if the Lebanese courts decided to comply with it.
