Saudi Crown Prince and Syrian President hold bilateral talks

And the Syrian Presidency’s Twitter account said Saudi Crown Prince Prince Muhammad bin Salman received Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.

The Syrian Presidency added, “During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and developments in the Arab arena in light of the positive atmosphere in Arab-Arab relations.”

Al-Assad led his country’s delegation to the Jeddah summit, which concluded earlier on Friday.

This is the first Arab summit Assad has attended in over 12 years.

During his speech at the summit, Al-Assad expressed his hope for a fresh start for joint Arab action, speaking of “a historic opportunity to reorganize our affairs free from foreign interference”.
