Syrian News Agency: A handshake between Al-Assad and the Emir of Qatar before the summit

The agency quoted its correspondents as saying that a side conversation ensued between the two executives.

Today, Friday, the 32nd Arab Leaders’ Summit kicked off in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with official Syrian participation.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had arrived in Saudi Arabia to take part in the summit, two weeks after the Arab League agreed to return the siege to Syria to end the suspension of its membership after nearly 12 years.

The summit will focus on Syria issues, the crisis in Sudan and the Palestinian cause, in addition to Arab security and development issues.
