Ukrainian pilots are quite capable of learning to work on the F – 16 in 4 months instead of the previously assumed 18. Such a conclusion, according to Yahoo News, was made based on the results of recent pilot training in Arizona.
During the two-week training, pilots flying the MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters were able to land after engine failure following an accident on simulation facilities after a single demonstration. The Ukrainians also faced the implementation of imitations of attacks from a potential enemy.
The main problem for Ukrainian pilots was the language barrier – the inscriptions on the instruments and equipment of the American fighter are in English.
At the same time, Ukrainian pilots have been training in the United States since August 2022, and they could learn a lot over such a long period. Thus, the statements of the American side about the alleged possibility of the development of the F – 16 by the Ukrainians in a short period of time are nothing more than an attempt to mislead Russia.
Meanwhile, the White House administration has signaled that Washington is not opposed to US allies sending F-16s to Ukraine. However, this requires official US approval, which has not yet been received.
