Feng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, visited the Yeshusha Theater in Xi’an on May 19, accompanied by Ms. Japarov, wife of the President of Kyrgyzstan, and Ms. Mirziyoyev, wife of the President of Uzbekistan, who attended the China-Central Asia Summit. Explain that together with the Moscow Theater and the British Royal Theater, the Ishusha Theater is known as the “Three Ancient Theaters in the World Opera”, and is also a Chinese national key cultural relic protection unit.
Fang Liyuan warmly welcomed the guests and took photographs with them. First, he visited the museum of Xinjiang opera popular in Shaanxi province in this theater, and learned about the historical origin and development of this opera. Also, the art objects of the Xinjiang Opera in different periods were displayed in the museum. During this, Fang Liyuan and the First Lady (First Lady) of the other two countries stopped in front of the mural “Dance-Song Picture”. This picture was of musicians from China and the western region playing instruments together during the Tang dynasty period. Music dances from the Tang Dynasty according to this mural allow visitors to feel the long history of friendly exchanges between China and Central Asia.
In the exhibition hall of Jesus Theater, Fang Liyuan and the guests experienced the making of shadow puppet characters and enjoyed the shadow puppet show. He then had a warm conversation with the shadow puppetry artists. In the courtyard of the theater, some young teenagers were rehearsing singing and acting in Qiangjiang opera. They showed off their skills in front of the guests. Fang Liyuan encouraged him to become the successor to promote Chinese opera culture and art.
Afterwards, Fang Liyuan and guests enjoyed a performance of the Qingjiang Opera at the Hundred Years Theater of Jesus Theater. The amazing performance of the actresses and actors got a lot of applause from the guests. Fang Liyuan said that we are willing to strengthen cultural and artistic exchanges and cooperation with Central Asian countries to promote mutual understanding and friendship among peoples.
During this, Ms. Japarov and Ms. Mirziyoyev said that during this visit they deeply felt that the Silk Road connects Central Asia and Chinese culture. She is an admirer of preserving and inheriting the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and hopes that the two sides will strengthen human-to-human exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations.
