Police got warrant from court to search Imran Khan’s residence

Lahore: Pakistan’s Punjab Police on Friday obtained a warrant from the court to search the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan. Had decided to send a team to hold talks with the PTI leadership. As per reports, an officer of the rank of Superintendent of Police will lead the party which will also include women personnel. The commissioner will be with the Lahore Division search team. Earlier, Lahore Capital City Police officer Bilal Saddiq Kamyana claimed to have arrested six more ‘terrorists’ who were trying to escape from Khan’s residence.

According to Kamyana, four of the alleged terrorists were involved in the attack on Askari Tower, while two of them were among those who vandalized the Corps Commander’s House in Lahore. Punjab’s Acting Information Minister Aamir Mir said yesterday that eight ‘terrorists’ were arrested while fleeing from Lahore’s Zaman Park area. He had said that the detained terrorists have already been identified and they were allegedly involved in the May 9 attack on the Lahore Corps Commander House.
