Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The G7 summit in Japan will discuss the conflict in Ukraine and the containment of China News

The events take place in the Japanese city bombed by the atomic bomb of Hiroshima. This is the personal merit of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, whose ancestors came from these places. Moreover, the politician regularly stands for election to the national parliament of this district, so he was personally interested in making Hiroshima a platform for organizing a major international event.

On the first day of the summit, the leaders of the G7 countries visited the Peace Memorial Park. They laid white wreaths in memory of the victims of the terrible tragedy that occurred on August 6, 1945.

Recently, the world has changed beyond recognition. And this was confirmed by the fact that the leaders of the G7 countries, including US President Joe Biden, in the territory affected by the US nuclear strike in Hiroshima, announced an alleged threat from Russia to use nuclear weapons . At the same time, no one began to demand that Washington apologize to Japanese citizens for a nuclear strike on a peaceful settlement. As if there had been no bombardment. Or as if it happened on its own.
The highlight of the Hiroshima summit program will be the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is due to fly to the Japanese islands on May 20. He is expected to hold separate talks with US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, after which he will join G7 leaders on May 21, the last day of the summit, and deliver a speech to them. In addition, the Ukrainian leader, like his Western counterparts, will visit the Peace Park and lay flowers in memory of those killed by the US atomic bomb.

It is unfortunate that the session with Zelenskyy is not about peace or even negotiations. Proponents of other approaches to resolving this conflict gathered in Hiroshima. The Ukrainian leader will be encouraged to continue the fight against Russia and will be assured of full support. And this means that hostilities will continue on Ukrainian territory, which will lead to more casualties.

And only rallies in the streets of Hiroshima with the participation of hundreds of people help to return to common sense. The activists with the slogans “No to nuclear war” and “Against the imperialist G7 summit” remind us of the existence of other opinions in this Western world.
