On May 20, before the G7 summit in Hiroshima (Japan), a meeting took place between two presidents, Ukraine – Volodymyr Zelensyy and France – Emmanuel Macron. After the conversation, the two leaders commented on the incident.

Thus, Macron said that the appearance of Zelenskyy in Japan at this time could have long-term consequences for international politics. He assured that Paris would stay with Kyiv “until the end”, reports BFMTV.

I think it’s a unique opportunity to exchange with many countries and talk about my situation, to share points of view. I really believe this could be a game changer

Macron explained his point of view when commenting on the arrival of Zelenskyy.

In turn, Zelenskyy described his arrival in Japan in detail on his Telegram channel.

Meeting with French President Macron. We regularly exchange views on the security situation and consider various options for our common defense and political actions. So it’s this time. Meaningful conversation. Builds confidence in our movement towards victory for Ukraine

  • Zelenskyy reported on the negotiations with the French President.

Also, Zelenskyy held a number of other meetings. He spoke with Italian Prime Minister George Maloney on the issue of strengthening Ukraine’s air defense to protect against attacks by Russian Aerospace Forces.

He also met British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Zelenskyy thanked him for London’s leadership in developing the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the skies.

Britain has been very active in developing modern fighters for Ukraine, and this is a historic moment.

he underlined.

Zelenskyy also had a “serious conversation” with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

I have taken stock of the progress of our peace formula. I believe that India will participate in the restoration of a rules-based international order, obviously necessary for all free nations.

Zelenskyy pointed out.

Then Zelenskyy had a meeting with EU President Charles Michel. The conversation turned to security, defence, economy and common politics – “unifying the potentials of Ukraine and the EU”.

Thank you, Charles, for your sincere, unwavering and effective support.

he added.

The last person Zelenskyy met that day was German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

We discussed with Olaf how we can accelerate an honest peace for Ukraine, how to strengthen our joint work in the G7

Zelenskyy summarized.
