Reckless driving and preferential treatment… Britain’s Home Secretary is in trouble

The ‘Sunday Times’ newspaper revealed that the minister, who was fined for speeding, asked advisers to organize a special course on traffic rules for her to avoid taking the course in a group of several motorists, in order to avoid losing points for driving. Licence.

Asked by reporters about the case, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said at the G7 summit in Japan that he “doesn’t know all the details of what happened”.

The PA news agency quoted its spokesman as saying: ‘I understand that she regretted the excessive speed and accepted the sanction and paid the fine’, stressing that the minister ‘of course’ enjoys the confidence of the Prime minister.

The union opposition is calling for an investigation into the case, saying the minister violated the rules of the ministerial law, which could lead her to leave the government.

A spokesperson for the minister responded in a statement received by Agence France-Presse: “Braverman admitted to driving at excessive speed last summer and regretted it. She chose to lose three points on her license and paid the fine last year”.

The minister did not immediately respond to these accusations.

Soella Braverman’s appointment drew criticism as she resigned from Liz Terrace’s government on October 19, after admitting to using her personal email to send official documents.

As tough as she is on security and immigration, the minister is working to implement the Prime Minister’s promise to ‘stop the boats’ of illegal immigrants to the UK, and her tough rhetoric arouses controversy.
