The Ministry of Construction will introduce rules for the construction of wooden houses up to 12 floors

The Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation plans to establish rules for the construction of wooden houses up to 12 floors by 2024, reports Izvestia. Until the end of 2023, it is planned to modify the existing regulations.

The houses can be built in almost any climatic condition, the Ministry of Construction said. This material can withstand high loads and is strong enough for building support structures. Wooden buildings are quickly erected – 2.5 times faster than conventional reinforced concrete technology.

Projects of wooden high-rise buildings are being developed in Moscow, the Moscow and Irkutsk regions, as well as in the Republic of Karelia and the Caucasus. Among them are hotel complexes. However, the population is still wary of this technology. The main concerns are related to fire safety.

However, in the event of a fire, these structures are charred, but not deformed, which facilitates the evacuation of people, according to experts. In addition, special materials are used in the construction of these houses.

Earlier it was reported that cow parsnip may start to be used in construction. MGSU scientists have managed to confirm the effectiveness of a mixture of dead wood from this plant and gypsum in the manufacture of building panels.
