The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) reported that the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, led dozens of settlers storming the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, at a time when Palestinian and Arab condemnations continue.

Wafa quoted sources as saying that dozens of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Mughrabi Gate in successive groups, carried out provocative tours in its courtyards, received explanations about the alleged “temple”, and performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern region of it, and in front of the Dome of the Rock.

The official Palestinian agency indicated that this is the second time since he assumed the position of the Ministry of National Security that the extremist Ben Gvir stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as he arrived in the early morning hours to Al-Buraq Square.

In turn, the Palestinian Presidency condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and its spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeina, said that Ben Gvir’s storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque squares was “a flagrant attack that will have serious repercussions.”

For its part, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry condemned “in the strongest terms” Ben Gvir’s storming of Al-Aqsa, under the guard and protection of the Israeli occupation forces. Egypt also condemned the Israeli incursions, stressing that it “will not change the existing legal and historical situation, in which Al-Aqsa is considered an exclusively Islamic endowment.”

On the other hand, the occupation police tightened their procedures at the gates of Al-Aqsa, imposed restrictions on the entry of young men to the Holy Mosque, and checked the identities of the worshipers and detained them at the gates.

Last Friday, Ben Gvir, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and Transportation Minister Miri Regev, in addition to representatives from the coalition government parties headed by Benjamin Netanyahu, participated in the “flag march” organized annually to celebrate the occupation of the eastern part of the Holy City.
