In the Omsk region, the state of emergency, introduced in the region on May 8 due to landscape fires, was put on high alert. This was announced by Acting Governor Vitaly Khotsenko.
“At the operational meeting, at the suggestion of the main leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Omsk region, I decided to change the emergency mode, which was introduced as part of a tense fire risk situation, in high alert mode. Monitoring results show that the number of thermal spots in the region has decreased,” Khotsenko’s post on his Telegram channel follows.
Khotsenko noted that he supervised the execution by the heads of the municipal districts of the instruction to increase the mineralized fire-fighting strips around the settlements by 10-20 m. He also instructed to strengthen information work with local residents on the danger of open fire.
Previously, the threat of blazing fires had been removed from settlements in the Kurgan region. Due to the fire element, more than three hundred residential buildings and almost four thousand other buildings were destroyed or damaged. 230 units of equipment and two Il-76 VKS aircraft were involved in extinguishing the fire. Volunteers and volunteers helped in the fight against the natural disaster. Residents of the Smolino microdistrict who suffered in the aftermath of the fire told how they tried to save their homes.
