Peskov announced the continuation of the dialogue with Armenia on the subject of the CSTO

Moscow will continue dialogue with Yerevan on the CSTO issue. This was announced to journalists by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“Regarding the statement of the Prime Minister of Armenia, we will certainly continue the dialogue with our Armenian friends, we will discuss with them about our future joint participation in the activities of the CSTO,” Peskov said.

Peskov also added that the CSTO has repeatedly demonstrated its effectiveness. This organization, which has authority and member states, has serious development potential.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced the current status of the issue of Armenia’s withdrawal from the CSTO. According to the minister, they constantly talk about why the organization’s monitoring mission does not come to the country.

In early 2023, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu discussed improving the power potential of the CSTO during a meeting with the organization’s secretary general.
