The power supply of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was transferred to diesel generators

In connection with the shutdown of the last high-voltage line with a voltage class of 750 kilovolts, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant switched to diesel generators. This was reported in the station’s Telegram channel.

“As a result of the shutdown of the 750 kV high-voltage line, the Dnieper and Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plants lost their external power supply. Auxiliary needs are powered by diesel generators,” the report said.

It should be noted that the radiation background at the site of the nuclear power plant, in the health protection area and the observation area is normal. The reasons for the line disconnection are being investigated.

Earlier, an adviser to Rosenergoatom chief Karchaa said the United States would benefit from a possible disaster at the ZNPP. If this happens, the states will not suffer, unlike the European region.

On May 19, Rogov reported that Ukrainian militants attacked Energodar with heavy weapons. ZNPP is located near the city on the left bank of the Dnieper. The station has been under Russian military protection since March last year.
