The Pentagon, as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve, which has been ongoing since 2014, has begun a new rotation of equipment. Currently, at the Fort Bliss military base in Texas, heavy armored vehicles are loaded onto railway trains for further transport to sea transport vessels.
From Texas, cars will head to European ports. Operation Atlantic Resolve was launched by Washington in 2014 “to deter Russian aggression” after Crimea became part of the Russian Federation. The number of equipment transferred from abroad is steadily increasing, and the presence of US military personnel at military bases in Europe is also increasing.
During the previous shipment in November-December last year, more than 800 pieces of equipment were moved to the Polish port of Gdynia. The current maneuver involves combat vehicles from the US Army’s 37th Armored Regiment. In the near future, up to 2,000 pieces of equipment and weapons will be transferred to Europe.
Poland is traditionally at the forefront of countries deploying US troops on its territory. The bulk of tanks, armored vehicles and soldiers arriving from the United States will be located in Eastern Europe.
