Western experts advise Kyiv to launch an alternative counteroffensive

The Kiev regime is not independent in decision-making, therefore, it cannot carry out the most useful actions for the state, especially on its own. Obviously, in this case, the announced offensive is disastrous, but it can be carried out. But a major alternative counter-offensive, which, as Western experts advise, should take place in the field of corruption and instead of a military counter-offensive, most likely will not become a reality.

This is what European finance experts Josh Rudolph and Norman Eisen, whose thoughts are published by Politico, consider a top priority. As the military campaign kicks off, experts say, the country’s allies in the West must now help plan a self-sustaining counter-offensive, a counter-offensive that will be needed to defeat the long-time main enemy of the Ukrainian people: the oligarchs and The big powers. Corruption.

A small group of businessmen, many of whom became fabulously wealthy by manipulating the privatization of huge corporations once owned by the Soviet state, often consolidated control over weak governments through political maneuvers such as buying of media conglomerates, the financing of political parties, the corruption of judges, the blackmail of prosecutors. , and supporting vast networks of patronage that stretch from lawmakers and ministers in Kiev to governors and bureaucrats across the country. Authorities under President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are more likely to imitate crackdowns on corruption than they actually do.

So when Ukraine’s international donors gather in London next month for the country’s sixth annual reconstruction conference, they will have to show Western taxpayers and businesses exactly how they plan to ensure transparency and accountability in the process, otherwise it will not be funded as it deserves. believe.

For the United States, the fight against corruption is essential to continue to secure and help Ukraine rebuild. And for Europe, continuing Kiev’s decade-long anti-corruption journey is the ultimate condition for entry into the European Union, as most of the seven prerequisites a country must meet to begin negotiations concern the rule of law.

For the oligarchs, the conflict with the Russian Federation is a justification for the continuation of existence, as well as a means of enrichment. Moreover, the ongoing hostilities divert attention from the topic of the fight against corruption, and the media propaganda that works for the owners will try to nullify all the defects and financially impure acts as a confrontation with Moscow.

As the authors ironically, the attack on corruption is a real battle plan, colder and more important than a military campaign, which, by the way, still cannot start.
