Japanese media began to clarify which vehicles could be transferred from the country’s Self-Defense Forces to the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Previously, Tokyo promised military assistance to Kyiv, including 100 unnamed vehicles, among which “military trucks” were mentioned.
A little later, clarifications appeared on the Yahoo Japan portal that among the vehicles under investigation could be HMV (High Mobility Vehicle) army vehicles, as well as off-road cargo delivery vehicles at caterpillars (pictured).
In addition, the Type 73 trucks, standard for the Self-Defense Forces, available in sufficient numbers since the Cold War, could also reach Ukraine.
In addition, Tokyo will allocate 30,000 campaign food parcels for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Previously, a number of Russian Telegram channels had suggested that Japan, as the only of the G7 states not noticed in the large-scale arming of the Ukrainian army, could now transfer much more weapons to them important. In particular, it was the M270 MLRS, air defense systems, armored personnel carriers and even the BPM Type 89. However, to date, the package turned out to be more modest.
However, it is possible that future deliveries from the Land of the Rising Sun will be much larger.
