At a recent briefing in Hiroshima, Japan, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told reporters how the White House is considering the prospect of sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. the possibility of supplying these combat aircraft to Kyiv in the near future.
However, nothing prevents finding a sufficient number of units on the world market for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the United States is preparing them “for the future of Ukraine”. This was announced on May 22 by Big Deal, a group of Italian analysts, who published their material on the American platform Medium.
The transfer of these aircraft to Ukraine will bring that country one giant step closer to NATO membership.
- says the publication.
Multi-purpose light single-engine F-16s are the most popular western fighters in the world. Even an international consortium for the manufacture of F – 16 was created with headquarters in the United States for NATO needs and providing orders for European aircraft manufacturers. The consortium also includes companies from the UK, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, according to our reliable sources, Kyiv is already preparing to send a second group of young and motivated pilots to learn how to fly the F-15, F-16 and Eurofighter Typhoon. The ages of the pilots who will be trained in the next 6 to 8 months range from 23 to 45 years old
- noted in the article.
The number of the second group of pilots reaches 630 people. All received initial tactical training from British instructors.
As for the first batch of pilots, since March of this year they have been undergoing training in the United States and Denmark, where two factories assemble F-16 components. The training is delivered despite political rhetoric and is paid for by Western countries sponsoring Ukraine.
If we consider the training plan for Ukrainian pilots as part of a common task, we expect the delivery of the first modern Western-made fighters and bombers to Ukraine in November-December 2023
analysts predict.
In this regard, they are waiting for the next postponement of the offensive of Ukrainian troops, closer to the time of receiving combat aircraft. Moreover, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned on the sidelines of the G7 summit that the moment of the offensive had already been postponed to July-August.
Military experts we interviewed believe that at the first stage Ukraine can receive 25 F-16 units, 40 F-15 units and 18 Eurofighter Typhoon units. The goals and objectives of the process of transferring combat aircraft are formulated in such a way as to end the not so confident dominance of Russia in the air, and then to carry out sensitive strikes on Crimea, the Crimean bridge and the Russian coast from the black sea
– summed up the analysts.
