They can be found helping them with their studies or motivating them, but experts confirm that what students need most before and during exam time is psychological comfort.
It is very natural for the student to feel anxious, but this anxiety should not turn into what is called exam phobia, which can persist for long periods of time, even during the university years, or perhaps after this also during the search for a job, for example, or the presentation of projects.
And sometimes what makes things worse is the behavior of the parents, because they can make the student very stressed, lose their ability to concentrate and lead to counterproductive results, instead of reassuring them and giving them the opportunity to have fun.
In this context, psychology consultant Dr Rima Bejjani said:
Stress is a motivating factor, but it becomes a worry if it is a real obstacle to achieving our goals. There must be a favorable environment capable of helping the student to pass the stage. The student’s self-confidence and abilities must be strengthened. Care must be taken not to put the student under pressure. Time management and a healthy lifestyle are very important.
