The arrival of the two Saudi astronauts at the International Space Station

The Associated Press reported that the International Space Station received Saudi astronauts Rayana Bernawi and Ali Al-Qarni today, in addition to Americans John Shoffner and Peggy Watson.

And the Saudi Space Authority posted images of the Saudi astronauts’ spacecraft docking to the International Space Station and entering it on its official account on the “Twitter” site.

The four will spend just over a week at the station, before returning to Earth aboard their capsule.

On Sunday, the two Saudi astronauts took off for a special mission organized by the American company “Axiom Space”, from Florida.

A Falcon 9 rocket produced by SpaceX, carrying Saudi astronauts Rayana Barnawi and Ali Al-Qarni, launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, US, accompanied by former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson and contractor American John Schofner.

According to the Saudi Space Authority, the most important next steps for astronauts in the time of the Kingdom:

Completion of the docking maneuver with the International Space Station: (4:24 p.m.) Opening of the capsule door for the landing of astronauts: (6:13 p.m.) Welcoming of astronauts to the International Space Station: (6:45 p.m.)
