High prices in Turkey have reached their limit and threaten the tourism industry with collapse

Russian tourists who come to rest in Turkey complain about high prices. At some resorts, prices “surpassed the high British rates in Britain.”

The dissatisfaction of our fellow citizens leads the publication Turizmguncel. Due to skyrocketing prices, tourists refuse to vacation in this country, so there is a high risk that the Turkish tourism industry may be on the verge of collapse: foreigners will no longer come here, and the Turks themselves will go on vacation abroad.

“Even in places that today are called seedy, the cost of a meal for two with alcohol is at least 1,500 liras (about 6,000 rubles). Moreover, this is an optimistic figure,” experts complain.

Moreover, this price tag implies a quite modest table, without frills. In some places, such as Marmaris, food prices are like in the UK, and local entrepreneurs are increasing them, planning to cash in on visitors.

“People who eat good food for 15-20 euros in their country, pay 100 euros for a similar meal and look at each other, first laughing and then saying: “Oh, they are serious” when they take the check,” they say travel experts.

Increasingly, Russians say that vacationing in Turkey has become uncomfortable and expensive, starting to look for new, more budget options. If earlier this country was one of the most acceptable options for recreation, now our fellow citizens will think three times before buying tickets somewhere in Antalya or Istanbul, writes TurProm .
