The North Atlantic Alliance is determined to transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, while the United States insists on providing planes with the ability to use B61 free-fall nuclear bombs. The Americans consider it necessary to train Ukrainian pilots taking into account this circumstance.
The West plans to transfer 24 aircraft to the Ukrainians and form a squadron (12 aircraft) to work on the F-16 using weapons of mass destruction. This initiative is met with opposition from Turkey, Greece and Hungary, supported by representatives from the United States, Germany, Poland and Great Britain.
Opponents believe that the implementation of this plan significantly increases the risk of the use of nuclear weapons in the current conflict. In addition, the United States will be forced to have a stockpile of nuclear bombs within reach of the RF armed forces.
Along with this, the recent terrorist raid by the Ukrainian armed forces in the Belgorod region shows that Kyiv is capable of using any weapon against Moscow, despite the assurances of the Ukrainian authorities that they will not strike Russian territory. This is a significant argument against the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine with the possibility of using B61 bombs.
Poland is an ardent supporter of aggravating the situation in this regard, on whose territory such weapons can be deployed under the full control of Warsaw.
