Sydney. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his Australian counterpart Penny Wong on Wednesday. He said that both countries are increasingly demonstrating their ability to go beyond bilateral ties and enhance cooperation at the regional and global levels.
Jaishankar described his meeting with Wong as “excellent”. He tweeted, “Had a wonderful meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong this afternoon. The post-summit action of the Prime Ministers has begun. India and Australia are increasingly demonstrating their ability to go beyond bilateral relations and enhance cooperation at the regional and global levels.
While there, Wong tweeted, “It is an honor to meet Narendra Modi and S Jaishankar along with Anthony Albanese. As PM Modi has said, our relationship is based on three ;democracy, diaspora and friendship. We continue to invest in our partnership to promote bilateral trade, defense and people-to-people ties.”
Earlier, there was a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese. In the meeting, Modi apprised Albanese of India’s concerns over incidents of attacks on temples in Australia and activities of pro-Khalistan elements.
