“The night did not go well. There have been a large number of drone attacks. Most of the air defense systems have been dealt with, but there is damage in Belgorod, Borisovsky district, Belgorod region,” Gladkov said.
According to him, residential buildings, office buildings and cars were damaged, no one was injured.
Also Governor informed that in Novaya Tavolzhanka a bomb was dropped from a drone over a private house, the explosive device did not explode. In the village of Tomarovka, Yakovlevsky district, drones dropped explosive devices on two administrative buildings.
In the Grayvoron district, where the Counter Terrorism Operation (CTO) was previously conducted, a gas pipeline was damaged and a small fire continues. The causes of the fire must be established by the investigating authorities, Gladkov noted. Electricity supply in the district is expected to be restored between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., after which water supply and cellular communications will be restored.
“There are nine people in the hospitals: three people are in intensive care in serious condition, six people are already in the departments (…) There are more than 550 people in the temporary accommodation centers in the Graivoronsky district in Stary Oskol, Rakitny, Ivne and Stroitel,” the governor said.
Later, Gladkov wrote on his telegraph channel that the outskirts of the village of Terezovka, Shebekinsky district, had been shelled by the Ukrainian armed forces. “There is a victim – a man with injuries to the lower limbs. The FMBA team delivers him to the Central District Hospital,” noted the head of the region.
Attack of the saboteurs
On May 22, Gladkov announced that the Ukrainian DRG had entered the Graivoron district and the CTO regime was introduced in the Belgorod region. Responsibility for the attack was borne by the “Russian Freedom” Legion * and the “Russian Volunteer Corps”, participating in hostilities on the side of Ukraine.
On May 23, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the defeat of the DRG and the destruction of more than 70 saboteurs. The remains of the attackers, according to the department, were pushed back into the territory of Ukraine.
