Russian President Vladimir Putin, by his decree, awarded the title of Honored Artist of the country to one of the founders of the legendary rock band Aria, Valery Kipelov.
The team was born in Soviet times – in 1985, and has been successfully performing for almost four decades.
Kipelov himself positions himself not only as a musician, but also as a public figure who supports the position of the Russian authorities.
The performer supported the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation in 2014, not so long ago he performed in the Donbass, for which he fell under Western sanctions.
