A round table was held on the theme of the automotive market under sanctions

On February 16, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation organized a round table on the topic: “Development of the automotive market under sanctions: key players and problems of import substitution”. The event was organized by the Office of the Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights to the President of the Russian Federation and the Russian-Chinese Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development.

The speakers were: Trade and Economic Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Russian Federation Yu Hongchi; Director of the “AUTOSTAT” analytical agency Tselikov S.Yu., Head of the Representative Office of the Chinese Committee for the Promotion of International Trade in Russia Gao Qi, Vice-Chairman of the Russian part of the Russian-Chinese Committee for the Friendship, Peace and Development Zvagelsky VF, Chairman of RAUIE Mankevich VV, Director of Development Department of MTVC Greenwood Li Feng, Deputy Director of EXEED Cars Rus Hua Yang.

During the event, they discussed exactly how the Russian and Chinese auto markets have changed under the influence of the sanctions and what are the prospects for the development of the Chinese auto industry in Russia in the near future. Thus, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Avtostat analysis agency, showed that sales in the Chinese market increased by 4% in 2022, while China continues to actively penetrate the Russian market: 38% of the car market particular are imported from China.

In addition, support mechanisms for the import of industrial products, the requirements of an import contract for the purchase of priority products and other important industry issues were discussed in detail.
