The newspaper revealed the details of a meeting which took place last week in the French capital, Paris, between Messi and his former Barcelona colleagues, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto, and their wives.
A number of ‘Barca’ stars are in France on the occasion of the vacation given to them by coach Xavi Hernandez after winning the Spanish league title.
The source added: “The players haven’t posted any pictures of this meeting on their social media accounts, as they took the opportunity to have dinner with Messi as close friends.”
She explained that the players asked Messi a question about his return to Barcelona, and his answer was: “I haven’t received any offer from the club.”
‘Mundo Deportivo’ explained this by saying that Barcelona are waiting for ‘La Liga’ approval before officially starting negotiations with the Paris Saint-Germain star.
It comes at a time when the media said Al Hilal Saudi Arabia had made a ‘huge’ offer for Messi to wear his shirt next season.
And the famous Spanish show, “Sheringito”, confirmed a few days ago that the Argentine star would agree to join the Saudi club Al Hilal.
