Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

diabetes and heart disease will not help to avoid mobilization

Alexander Sergoventsev, head of the Main Military Medical Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, said that diabetes is not one of the diseases that exempt from mobilization.

Sergoventsev explained that if diabetes was included in the list, then hypertension and coronary heart disease would also have to be included.

He stressed that if you include all these diseases in the list, then you may encounter a situation where the Ministry of Defense will not have a single soldier left, since everyone has chronic diseases. He also recalled the government’s decree and urged them to implement it together.

The head of the department recalled the ban on conscription of people with a criminal record and found unfit for military service, as well as those who have reached the age of over 65 years.

During the partial mobilization, about 40 thousand Russian citizens were sent to the military medical commission. According to Sergoventsev in an interview with the agency “Interfax “, of which about 6,000 were declared unfit for military service, and 7,000 received a deferment.
