Lukashenko said the SVO in Ukraine was needed

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko praised Russia for the NVO on Ukrainian soil, noting that it helped prevent the worst conflict in the region. The Belarusian leader said so on the sidelines of the EAEU summit on Thursday, answering questions from Russian journalists in the Kremlin.

Lukashenko believes that the NWO is “a detail in the overall confrontation for the multipolarity of the world” and noted that if it had not started in February 2022, the conflict would have occurred later, but under worse conditions for the Russia and Belarus.

“You prevented the development of these events,” Lukashenko said.

In March, the President of Belarus offered to end hostilities in Ukraine. He made this statement during his annual address to the Belarusian parliament and people. Lukashenko offers to declare a truce without the right to move equipment and weapons from Ukraine and Russia.
