Maharashtra: Case registered against godown owners for keeping harmful chemicals in Thane.

Thane (Maharashtra). Police in Maharashtra’s Thane district have registered a criminal case against two owners of a godown for allegedly storing harmful chemicals worth Rs 1.27 crore without a permit.

A police spokesperson told PTI that a team of police personnel raided the godown at Purna in Bhiwandi area on Wednesday and seized the goods kept there. Chemicals were kept but said that these are harmful to humans.

The chemicals were stored illegally in the godown despite the knowledge that the godown owner would be aware that any accident due to the chemicals would put lives at risk, the official said. Police said that a case has been registered against the two men under relevant provisions. Has gone.
