On November 22, the Civic Chamber hosted a round table “Improving the effectiveness of checkpoints as a driving force for the development of Russian-Chinese trade”, organized by the Commissioner for the Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights to the President of the Russian Federation and the Russian-Chinese Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development.
The panel speakers were: Deputy Director of Department of Commerce of Heilongjiang Province of China Wang Xianhua, Counselor for Trade and Economic Affairs of Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation Yu Hongchi, Deputy Head of Rosgranstroy FGKU Erokhin AA, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EYT Harbin JSC Liu Hanyuan, Deputy General Manager of “HEILONGJIANG SHIPPING GROUP CO., LTD” Sun Yongmin and others.
Previously, the Committee has repeatedly received requests from the business community with a request for assistance in solving the problem of low throughput at border checkpoints between Russia and China.
Within the framework of the round table, experts and business representatives discussed the main problems related to improving the efficiency of border control points and jointly developed the main recommendations for their solution. So, the participants of the discussion proposed: to expand the places of storage of goods, to increase efficiency in the field of loading and unloading operations at checkpoints, to transfer the main car checkpoints ( Kraskino, Pogranichny, Poltavka, Turiy Rog and Zabaikalsk) to round-the-clock operation as soon as possible to resume work at Olochi and Starotsurukhaytuysky checkpoints, to expand cooperation between Russia and China in the unification of customs procedure and the transfer of this procedure to an online format and other recommendations.
