Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Professor Harit informed the citizens of the Russian Federation about the life span of rotavirus particles in food and water

Infectious disease specialist Susanna Harit told the Russians about how long the rotovirus lives in food.

Rotovirus, getting into water or food, remains active and contagious for some time. In addition, the virus is able to survive, being not in the composition, but on the surface of objects that were used by patients.

“In tap water, it survives up to 60 days, on vegetables, fruits – up to 30 days, on various objects – up to 1.5 months, in the secretions of patients – up to 7 months,” the doctor said.

Rotovirus is especially hard on children. In order to avoid difficult cases, the specialist recommends vaccination, careful hygiene when it comes to food interaction.

Studies have shown that timely vaccination helps protect children from diabetes, seizures and other diseases that can occur as complications from rotovirus. Writes about it Gazeta.ru.
