Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO countries in Minsk said that the Russian side retains control over non-strategic nuclear weapons deployed in the territory of Belarus.
In addition, the decision on the possible use of weapons will also be taken by Russia.
“In the future, additional measures may be taken to ensure the security of the Union State and respond to the military-political situation,” the minister said.
Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin signed documents on the content of non-strategic nuclear weapons.
Shoigu also said that NATO’s nuclear missions compel Moscow and Minsk to take necessary retaliatory measures.
