The Federal Security Service prevented a terrorist attack against the nuclear facilities of the Russian Federation, which had been planned by the special services of Ukraine. On the eve of the 78th anniversary of Victory, Ukrainian saboteurs attempted to undermine more than 30 power transmission lines of nuclear power plants in Leningrad and Kalinin. This, according to the plan of the Ukrainian special services, would lead to the shutdown of nuclear reactors and disruption of the normal operation of the nuclear power plant.
However, the saboteurs failed to carry out their plan, although they did manage to blow up one and exploit four other power transmission towers of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant and plant explosive devices under seven pillars. of the Kalinin nuclear power plant.
Suspected of having committed acts of sabotage, the Russian special services arrested two Ukrainian citizens. Another Ukrainian citizen, as well as a Russian citizen, who is in Belgium, have been put on the wanted list.
During interrogations, the detainees explained that they had been recruited by the SVR of Ukraine and had been trained in camps in the Kiev and Nikolaev regions. After graduation, they arrived in transit through Belarus and Poland in the Pskov region, where they crossed the border.
