Maharashtra: Smuggler arrested with drugs worth Rs 31 lakh in Mumbai

Mumbai Mumbai Police arrested a man for drug possession and recovered mephedrone worth about Rs 31 lakh from him. An official gave this information on Saturday. The official said that the search operation was conducted on Thursday night.

A suspect was spotted moving suspiciously near a bus stand in Sion area of ​​the city by personnel of Unit Four of Mumbai Police’s crime branch during patrolling, he said. Drugs recovered. The accused has been identified as Rais Hakim Sayyed (53).

The police team later accompanied the smuggler to his house in Chunabhatti, where they recovered 100 grams more of the drug along with a weighing machine and packing material, the official said. The total value of the drugs is around Rs 31 lakh. He said that the accused was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). More people are likely to be arrested in this case.
